Does anxiety qualify for a medical card in Pennsylvania?
Yes. The Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana Program lists Anxiety disorders as a qualifying condition. A Pennsylvania-licensed provider still has to evaluate you and agree that cannabis is appropriate.
About anxiety
Limited evidence. Evidence is limited. The National Academies found limited evidence that cannabidiol (CBD) improves anxiety symptoms in a public-speaking test for people with social anxiety. THC can ease anxiety at low doses for some people and worsen it at higher doses for others.
Symptoms Pennsylvania patients most often hope to ease:
- Racing thoughts and constant worry
- Trouble falling asleep because of a busy mind
- Muscle tension and restlessness
- Feeling on edge in social or work situations
- Physical stress symptoms such as a tight chest or upset stomach
