Florida medical card vs. recreational: is a card worth it?

Florida has no recreational market — a medical card is the only legal way to buy.

What changes with a card

  • Taxes: Patients often pay less tax than recreational buyers; check the state's current rates.
  • Limits: Up to a 70-day supply; no more than 4 ounces of smokable flower at a time
  • Age: patients can qualify from 18 (younger with a caregiver); recreational is 21+.
  • Cost of the card: $75 state fee + our evaluation from $79, only if approved.
