Using your card · South Dakota

Does South Dakota accept out-of-state medical cards?

Yes. Non-residents with a valid medical card from their home jurisdiction can register for a non-renewable South Dakota nonresident ID number valid up to six months.

Traveling from South Dakota

Your South Dakota card is issued under South Dakota law, so other states decide for themselves whether to honor it. Never carry cannabis across state lines — that's a federal offense, including on flights.
