Delaware medical marijuana FAQ: answers from the official program
Answers to the questions Delaware patients ask most, based on the Delaware Medical Marijuana Program's own guidance.
What conditions qualify for a Delaware medical marijuana card?
Delaware removed its condition list under HB285. A Delaware-licensed MD, DO, APRN or PA can certify you for any diagnosed condition they believe marijuana would help.
I'm over 65 — do I need a provider to sign my application?
No. Residents 65 and older can self-certify. You still complete and submit the patient application, but no provider signature is needed.
How much does a Delaware card cost?
The nonrefundable fee is $50 for one year, $75 for two years or $100 for three years. Low-income fee reductions stopped being accepted on January 1, 2025.
Can I use my out-of-state medical card in Delaware?
Yes. At a Delaware medical dispensary you complete a visiting patient application, upload your license and current card, and pay $20. The Delaware card expires when your home-state card does.
How much can a Delaware patient buy?
Registered patients may buy three ounces of usable marijuana every 14 days, up to six ounces per month. Home growing is not allowed.
